What is EXTRA
Region 54 is proud to provide our players with a program that offers soccer development opportunities similiar to club soccer but maintains the core AYSO philosophies - including a guarantee that they will play at least half of every game. AYSO EXTRA is designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills, and abilities. The goal of EXTRA is to strengthen AYSO by retaining players and volunteers in addition to primary programs operated under the AYSO philosophies. EXTRA is committed to developing a world-class competitive soccer program that is focused on providing a more challenging environment and enhancing the training and development for our more dedicated soccer enthusiasts. All interested players will have to attend a try-out in the Fall and/or Spring each year, wehre they will be evaluated by an assessment team. Players who are chosen to participate will be notified shortly (2-4weeks) after tryouts. Players who are not chosen can be placed on a core team in the Fall or Spring season. EXTRA teams compete against other EXTRA teams throughout AYSO Section 11 as well as tournament play.
